Sebastian Fürthauer
Assistant Professor, Research Unit of Biophysics · Active Materials · Cell Biophysics · Emergence
Sebastian Fürthauer studies the physics of cellular-scale processes — how cells divide, move, and sense direction. After earning his PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Physics of Complex Systems and the MPI for Cellular Biology and Genetics in Dresden, he conducted research at the Tata Centre for Interdisciplinary Sciences in Hyderabad, the Courant Institute at NYU, Harvard University, and the Flatiron Institute of the Simons Foundation in New York City. He joined TU Wien in 2020 as a WWTF Young Investigator.
